ParkUsher just parked in Boston

Boston, truly a great city, Home of the Red Sox and the Bruins, but now it's home to ParkUsher too. That's right, you asked, and we delivered. ParkUsher officially launched in Boston! Now, now, calm down, I know you're excited, so let me tell you all bout this exciting development.

Why Boston?

It all started when we first visited Boston. We were in the North End trying to find lunch, and found it almost impossible to find parking, like any parking at all. The next day, we were trying to find parking near the commons, and even the parking garages were full. If we were having so much trouble, we knew other people were too.

We wanted to help the city find legal parking, all while avoiding stress and tickets. That's another thing: those tickets can be as high as $ 120… not in this economy.

What ParkUsher Brings to Boston

As soon as we decided to work with Boston, we got to work. Pounding the pavement, collecting data, doing research, writing code, and drinking lots of coffee. This is what we've built so far:

  • Real-Time Parking Map: The app shows you where parking is allowed and where it's not in real time. Think of it like a digital traffic light system: Green = good to go, Red = don't even think about it. Add your resident permit, and it will update the map
  • Parking Timer + Notification: You won't have to worry about overstaying your parking. Our app lets you set timers and will notify you when your time is up.
  • AI Street Scanner: Take a picture of a sign, and the app instantly interprets the complexities and tells you if you can park in plain language. It's especially useful when you want complete clarity on top of what you see on the map. When paired with the Real-Time Parking Map, ParkUsher becomes a comprehensive parking tool.

The Resident Permit Game-Changer

If you live in Boston, you know the struggle of the "Resident Parking Only" sign. Is this my district? Does my South End sticker work on this side of the street, or did I just cross into Back Bay?We built a feature specifically for locals. In ParkUsher, you can add your specific Resident Permit directly to your profile. The moment you do, the map updates to show you exactly which "Resident Only" spots are legal for you. No more memorizing district boundaries or guessing if you're safe—if the map says green, your sticker is good.

Which neighbourhoods are we in so far:

So far, we've launched in the areas where parking is the most difficult:

  • Back bay
  • Beacon Hill
  • Fenway
  • Longwood Medical Area
  • Mission Hill
  • Parts of South Boston

What's next?

Don't worry, we're not stopping in a few areas; soon, we will be across the whole city. We're going to keep expanding our coverage to help each and every one of you. We are also working on features like accessible parking and construction zones. We're on a mission to make Boston the easiest city to park in… whether you like it or not (idk why you wouldn't)

In conclusion

Whether you're a professional or a student, ParkUsher is your ultimate Parking companion. Helping you avoid fines and stress.
